The Women Empowerment Project Foundation strongly condemn the gruesome murder of Ms Mary Mendy and stand in solidarity with those concerned of this tragic incident that took place on the 7th April 2021 at Busumbala Village.
Violence against women and girls continue to be a concern and a threat and more awareness should created for our communities to be a save place for women and girls.
We strongly commend and equally urge the authorities to thoroughly investigate this matter and bring closure to the victims family,friends and the entire community at large.
Notwithstanding we appeal to the authorities to use all possible measures and means to control the disturbing images of the victim currently making rounds on social media. Its both a violation of thr victims right to privacy and equally upsetting to the family and her peers.
We believe all can help in reaching the goal of creating a society free from all forms of violence against women girls.
We wish to convey our deepest condolences to the victims family and friends.
May her young beautiful soul rest in peace.
